(Bengali:বান্দরবান) is a district in South-Eastern Bangladesh, and a part of the Chittagong Division and Chittagong Hill Tracts. Bandarban is regarded as one of the most attractive travel destinations in Bangladesh. Bandarban (meaning the dam of monkeys), or in Marma or Arakanese language as "Rwa-daw Mro" is also known as Arvumi or the Bohmong Circle (of the rest of the three hill districts Rangamati is the Chakma Circle and Khagrachari is the Mong Circle). Bandarban town is the home town of the Bohmong Chief (currently King, or Raja, Aung Shwe Prue Chowdhury) who is the head of the Marma population. It also is the administrative headquarter of Bandarban district, which has turned into one of the most exotic tourist attractions in Bangladesh since the insurgency in Chittagong Hill Tracts has ceased more than a decade back.

Foy`s Lake

Foy's Lake is a man-made lake in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It was created in 1924 by constructing a dam across the stream that came down from the hills in the northern part of Chittagong. The purpose of creating an artificial lake was to provide water to the residence of railway colony. It was named after Mr Foy who was a Railway engineer and believed to materialized the project. Pahartali was basically a railway town with workshop yard and shed. A good number of railway employees lives there. Presently, a carriage workshop, diesel workshop, loco shed, laboratory, stores, electric workshop, school (established in 1924) are locatedThe area belongs to Railway. However, an amusement park, managed by the Concord group, is located here.

Cox's Bazar is The Longest Beach in the World.
        Cox's Bazar Beach is the longest natural unbroken beach in the world. It represents 77.67 miles (125 km) of unbroken sandy beach. The tide varies slightly creating a good place for sun bathing.
       The name Cox's Bazar Beach comes from Captain Cox who died in 1799. He was a British officer that was compassionate towards the local people and had gain much favor in their eyes. The beach

                          Rabindranath Tagore Kuthibari 

 Shilaidah Kuthibari is a historical place where the great universal poet and the Nobel laurate Rabindranath Tagore lived for a part of his life. Actually it is a country house which was made by the father of Rabindranath, Dwarkanath Tagore.

Rabindranath passed the important time of his carrier while staying at Shilaidah which is situated at Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia. During this time he wrote many world famous poems and songs.
Rabindranath was the landlord of this place. He used to stay here actually to build good relation with the administration. He stayed here during his youth life. After his departure from Bangladesh it became famous as a historical place and when the poet was awarded the Nobel Prize the place had been known to world.

Shahid Miner



The Shaheed Minar (Bengali: শহীদ মিনার Shohid Minar lit. "Martyr Monument") is a national monument in Dhaka, Bangladesh, established to commemorate those killed during the Bengali Language Movement demonstrations of 1952.
On February 21, 1952, dozens of students and political activists were killed when the Pakistani police force opened fire on Bengali protesters who were demanding equal status for their native tongue, Bengali. The massacre occurred near Dhaka Medical College and Ramna Park in Dhaka. A makeshift monument was erected on February 23 by students of University of Dhaka and other educational institutions, but soon demolished on February 26 by the Pakistani police force.
The Language Movement gained momentum, and after a long struggle, Bengali was given equal status with Urdu. To commemorate the dead, the Shaheed Minar was designed and built by Hamidur Rahman, a Bangladeshi sculptor. The monument stood until the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, when it was demolished completely during Operation Searchlight. After Bangladesh gained independence, it was rebuilt.

Jatiyo Sriti Soudho



Jatiyo Sriti Soudho (Bengali: জাতীয় স্মৃতি সৌধ Jatio Sriti Shoudho) or National Martyrs' Memorial is the national monument of Bangladesh is the symbol in the memory of the valour and the sacrifice of all those who gave their lives in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which brought independence and separated Bangladesh from Pakista. The monument is located in Savar, about 35 km north-west of the capital, Dhaka.It was designed by Syed Mainul Hossain.
